Mutual of America honors partnerships with its "Community Partnership Award"

For the past 15 years, Mutual of America has been recognizing U.S. nonprofit organizations for their efforts in facilitating partnerships that benefit their communities. Ten organizations are chosen as winners. There's one national winner and the other nine fall into two categories - Honorable Mention or Merit Finalist. The lucky recipient of the National "Community Partnership Award" gets $25,000 along with a documentary to help promote the partnership. Mutual of America is currently accepting applications for the 2012 "Community Partnership Award". Click here for more information.

It's great to see community partnerships being honored and promoted. There are so many people, sometimes in different job sectors, that care about the same issues. What better idea than to have them come together to address an issue. Not only can you share material resources, but invaluable one's such as time, skills, expertise, and social networks. That's just the power of partnerships.
